Chesapeake Bay Restoration – What’s Working to Meet TMDL Targets 
Visit sites Anne Arundel County, MD that highlight innovative restoration approaches

Visit stream, gully, and shoreline restoration sites in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  Sites will be a combination of projects carried out by Anne Arundel County government agencies as well as a handful of projects carried out by NGOs.  Project examples will include regenerative stormwater conveyance (RSC), sand seepage wetland systems, living shorelines and upland BMPs.  The tour will highlight different design approaches and outcomes.  Weather appropriate clothing and footwear is suggested.

Detailed Schedule: 
8:00 am – 9:00 am:     Classroom time at hotel to learn about the three sites planned for visiting.
9:00 am – 9:30 am:     Travel to first site (Glen Burnie Furnace Branch)
9:30 am – 10:30 am:    Visit site
10:30 am – 11:15 am:  Travel to stream restoration and RSC site (Wilelinor)
11:15 am – 12:30 pm:  Visit control site
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm:    Lunch on your own (Annapolis Harbor Center – Baja Fresh, Potbelly, Fresh Markets)
1:30 pm – 2:00 pm:      Travel to Spa Creek
2:00 pm – 3:15 pm:      Spa Creek
3:15 pm – 4:00 pm:      Return to Hotel
